Patricia Shirer (Network Consultant/Principal):
Patricia Shirer has worked in the Information Technology field since
1984. Most recently, Tricia obtained her GCWN (Certified Windows Security
Administrator) from SANS Institute. She has held management positions
in the Technical Service and Help Desk departments at Lykes Bros. Steamship
and International Shipholding in New Orleans, and has been an independent
consultant since 1997. Using her expertise networking, project planning,
communications and trouble-shooting, she formed Beyond Networks, Inc.
with the goal of bringing corporate quality technology services to small
and mid-sized businesses in the New Orleans area.
Jeremy Sliwinski (Technical Support Specialist)
Jeremy Sliwinski has been working in IT for nearly 10 years, starting as a bench technician in his home town of Luling, Louisiana. Over the years he has worked with organizations such as the University of New Orleans, LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, and the U.S. Coast Guard. A graduate of UNO, he brings to BNI a comprehensive skill set including project management; network design, implementation, maintenance and security; experience with a wide range of platforms including Windows, Macintosh, BSD, Linux and Unix; systems/network administration; and extensive hardware troubleshooting experience.
David Pechon Jr. (Windows Network Administrator) is a veteran of the US Army and has been working in Information Technology for over 10 years. In the US Army, David had provided systems support and administration for human resources and military intelligence systems based on Windows, SCO OpenServer, and Solaris operating systems. He has supported units deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. After his career in the US Army, David had worked for a loan servicing company in Baton Rouge. His military training prepared him for disaster recovery in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and Rita. David also worked at Ochsner Health System as a systems programmer where he worked primarily on virtualization platforms based on VMware ESX Server. David’s military awards include four Army Achievement Medals, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon. David is also a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator and had earned the US Army’s Information Assurance Security Officer Accreditation.
Debra Maier (Development Lead)
Debra Maier has 24 years of experience in Computer Programming and Systems Analysis, 12 years of experience in Database Administration. Areas of experience include development and maintenance of software systems while in the employment of two consulting firms, a software service center, an insurance company, two banking financial institutions, a managed health care organization, a university and two ocean carriers. She is currently working as a DBA and Oracle Developer Lead in the New Orleans area. Debra has experience with both Oracle 8i and Oracle 9i in a Sun UNIX and Windows NT environment. She is experienced as an Oracle 11i Applications DBA and has developed web applications using Java, JavaScript, HTML against an Oracle Database using JDBC and SQLJ. Also, Debra is fluent in SQL, MicroFocus Cobol, PLSQL, Oracle Designer, Forms and Reports.
Douglas Pease (Web and Software Consultant)
Douglas Pease is a software generalist who has worked in Information Technology since 1979. He has an MS degree from Penn State. He was Data Center Manager for two Fortune 500 companies and has done contract work for multiple businesses, government agencies, and nonprofits. Doug successfully implemented a billing and collection system that has generated 90% of the client’s operating revenue for many years. He has considerable experience with other business applications, including billing, financial, payroll, document management, Internet, and preventive maintenance systems.
Janet Ward Pease (Web and Software Consultant)
Janet Ward Pease is a software specialist who has been in the Information
Technology field since 1985. She has an MBA from the University of New
Orleans and has worked as a Systems Engineer for EDS and Gulf Systems,
Inc. and as an Applications Manager for International Shipholding. Janet
is experienced in both product selection and software development and
can lead businesses from the requirements-gathering phase of a technology
project through development, training and implementation. She has also
developed and optimized web sites for businesses and non-profits and
is skilled in Flash, ASP, Visual Basic, Microsoft Access and COBOL programming
and in the production of web graphics.
